About Emily Wilcox
Based in Los Angeles, Emily Wilcox is a Relationship Expert, Speaker, Consultant and Author. She is recognized as one of the most insightful and provocative voices on commitment phobia and love addiction and the complex science behind childhood trauma and how it relates to our relationships.

Wilcox has spent the past two decades writing for women’s magazines and coaching couples and individuals on the art of relationships. Her book The Commitment Phobe has been widely received by critics and readers alike and uncovers the shocking truth behind the push/pull relationship.

Wilcox has been seen on The Oprah Winfrey Network as an expert guest. She is the featured relationship expert for DIVA Magazine (Dubai’s leading woman’s fashion magazine) with correspondents in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Beirut. Wilcox has contributed her expertise to FHM, The Huffington Post, Urban Dater, Outwords Magazine, The Advocate, Your Tango, SW Experts, Raw Attraction Magazine, SharpHeels, About.com, The Examiner, The Daily Xtra, Los Angeles Post and the number one nationally distributed women's magazine CURVE.

Wilcox spent her early years with The Los Angeles Journal, the now defunct weekly newspaper publication and later spent two years with her advice column "Ask Emily" for Here Media and Queeried's "Ask the Expert."

She has been heard on LA Talk Radio, Her Society, This Show is So Gay, INDIE 103.1, The Chick Whisperer and Web Talk Radio as an expert guest.

Originally from Chicago, Wilcox studied communications and psychology in Santa Barbara. She teaches workshops in the US and the UK on commitment phobia and love addiction.
Her first book 100 Lesbians Walk Into A Bar… won rave reviews from She Magazine, Xtra, Outwords Magazine, Chrry Grrl, Out in Jersey and Echo Magazine.

Wilcox became an early member of the AARP when she joined the Wheel of Fortune Wheel Watchers Club due to her obsession with the 80’s and Pat Sajak. She lives in Studio City, California, with her husband, Venezuelan actor Steve Wilcox and their daughter.
